KME Fire Apparatus

Bulldog Carries the Complete KME Lineup

Since 2005, Bulldog Fire & Emergency Apparatus has been a proud distributor for KME Fire Apparatus. Carrying their complete line of fire trucks and fuel trucks, we serve customers in Massachusetts (with the exception of Berkshire County), New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine and Tolland, Windham, New London and Middlesex counties in Connecticut.

Prior to becoming a distributor, KME was already a well represented brand in the New England region. With over 800 units out in the field, we saw a great opportunity to serve existing KME customers through our parts and service capabilities and expand through new fire truck and fuel truck sales. Learning more about the brand, it was clear to us what a great product KME manufactures. They mirror our commitment to customers by doing whatever it takes to satisfy them, which has fostered a true, lasting partnership overtime. Additionally, they stand behind their commitment to us as a dealership by providing the resources and tools we need to better serve you - our customers.

Honesty and Integrity Behind Every Vehicle

Purchasing a new fire truck or fuel truck is no small task. More than anything, we know how important it is to feel a sense of honesty and integrity in the company you chose to work with. We feel the same way at Bulldog, which is why working with KME is so critical to us. We are confident that they will stand behind their product; this allows us to focus on your needs and budget and pass that assurance on to you. Our knowledgeable sales representatives will work diligently with you and KME's design and engineering team to plan and build the perfect vehicle for your department.

The Best Vehicle For Your Budget

How can we promise you the right truck for all of your needs? KME Kovatch Mobile Equipment does many things well, but customization is king for them. If you're looking for something above and beyond... a fire truck or fuel truck from KME will deliver.

Our sales process begins with a detailed discussion to find out what you want. After requirements are collected, we work with KME to create detailed drawing blueprints and a custom quote/proposal. If you chose to move forward with the vehicle, we will hold a pre-construction meeting. This meeting includes a visit to the KME factory, where you sit down with an engineer who specializes in the type of unit you're building. This individual will cover in detail each part of the proposal to ensure you thoroughly understand exactly what you're getting and make certain nothing is left out. You can make any changes you wish, as well as take a tour of the KME shop floor to see how other trucks are being built. This inside approach provides valuable insight, enlightening you on other features or considerations you may not have considered previously and allowing you to build personal relationships with the KME staff. Keeping you informed throughout the entire process, a KME vehicle generally has a 270 day build time with a 90 day mid-point inspection. 30-60 days after the mid-point inspection, we offer another inspection and then one more final check before delivery. That said, you are involved every step of the way - just the way we like it at Bulldog.

Committed to Keeping You Up and Running

Once your KME truck is delivered and in service, we will help keep it in service. Our highly skilled technicians attend in-person training sessions at KME's headquarters, and supplement with additional education through KME sponsored webinars on new features as they are released. This, combined with our already impressive in-house service facility, offers our customers unparalleled service to keep them up and running. When you have an issue, you will deal with Bulldog Fire & Emergency Apparatus' owner Jeff Mazza one-on-one. He is personally committed to making sure his team does their best to make sure you are satisfied with your KME emergency vehicle for years to come.

More About KME Kovatch Mobile Equipment

KME started in 1946, when founder John "Sonny" Kovatch opened a small auto repair business in Nesquehoning, PA. Over the years, the company grew and in the 1970s it entered the specialty vehicle manufacturing business. Its first contracts were for rebuilding and manufacturing new vehicles for military clients, as Sonny was a WWII mechanic. To expand its offerings, KME began acquiring compatible companies and was soon able to provide a wider range of customized specialty products.

Today, the company is run by Sonny's son, John J. Kovatch III. KME Fire Apparatus is the flagship brand of the organization. They are the leader in manufacturing custom fire apparatus for military, industrial, airport and municipal fire departments. Recently, they've added new products and staff to significantly enhance their wildland firefighting sector.
