The UConn Fire Department has purchased two Fouts Medium Duty Rescue Trucks, expanding its emergency response capabilities across its campuses. The department was looking for two identical rescue units that could be delivered quickly, and Bulldog Fire Apparatus was able to meet the need through its extensive inventory of in-stock vehicles.
Working closely with UConn FD, Bulldog helped identify trucks that matched the department’s specifications and operational demands. Each unit was upfitted with custom shelving systems to maximize storage and tool access, finished with a distinctive two-tone paint scheme, and customized with UConn Fire Department graphics. The graphics really show off the campus department’s camaraderie and pride.

These medium-duty rescues will play a vital role in supporting the approximately 5,400 emergency calls UConn Fire responds to annually serving both the main campus in Storrs and UConn Health in Farmington.
Beyond emergency response, UConn Fire Department provides crucial support during large-scale public events, offers public education programming, conducts building and fire code inspections, and contributes to overall campus safety across the state.
